This new system allows you to reserve three fastpasses ahead of time before going to the parks. While this can be quite handy, it's so much better if you know how to really get the most out of it. There are some simple do's and don't's that should help you when it comes to this. DO book your fastpasses ahead of time! If you're staying on property or at select hotels sponsored by Disney, you can book your fastpasses 60 days before your trip. If not, you can make them 30 days ahead. Either way, it helps to make them as far in advance as possible.
DON'T wait until the last minute to book them. If you wait too long, there's very little chance of you getting fastpasses for the attractions you want. Typically the more popular an attraction is, the faster it fills up, and the less likely you will be able to get fastpasses later. DO allow time for meals and other experiences in between! Make sure that you do not plan a fastpass for the time you would rather be eating lunch. And make sure you're still leaving time to enjoy the magic of Disney. DON'T schedule your fastpasses for first thing in the morning. The rides are usually much less crowded first thing. So if you are going to the park early, try to get on the rides you want with a short standby wait and save the fastpasses for when it gets more crowded later on. DO schedule your fastpasses for a time you know you will be in the park. For example, if you have young kids and you're not sure that they'll have the energy to be in the park at 9 o'clock at night, don't schedule your fastpasses for that time. DON'T arrive outside of the time you scheduled. Disney used to allow guest to come anytime after their scheduled fastpass time but no longer allows it. You should make sure to arrive within your 1 hour window. However, if you are 5 minutes or so early or late you will most likely still be allowed to use it, in my experience. Thanks for reading all my do's and don't's for the fastpass plus system and I hope this helps you make the most out of your fastpasses.
